RealEvents lets organisers publish events and lets you register for them, free or paid. These terms are the agreement between you and the company that runs RealEvents. They are written to be read, not skimmed: each section says what happens.
If you organise events, the organiser agreement you accepted applies to you as well: the organiser agreement (opens in a new tab), or your country’s organiser terms where paid tickets are available. How we handle personal information is in the Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
Who we are
RealEvents is operated by Parklife, Inc. (registration 6515416), 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, United States ("Parklife"). "RealEvents", "we" and "us" in these terms mean Parklife. Events can be organised from any country. Paid tickets are available for events whose organiser is in the United States; everywhere else, events are free for now.
Support for the whole service is at support@real-events.com.
What RealEvents is
RealEvents is a ticketing platform. Organisers create events, set capacity and prices, and manage their guest lists; guests register, pay where a ticket is paid, receive their tickets, and check in at the door. We run the platform. We do not run the events. The organiser decides what the event is, where it happens, whether it goes ahead, and who they admit.
RealEvents is in alpha. The service is under active development, features may change or break, and we describe what that means for you in the availability section below.
Your account
You need an account to register for an event or organise one. You must be at least 18 years old to hold one. Someone under 18 attends an event through a ticket bought by a parent or guardian on the guardian’s own account.
Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to your email, by a Google or Microsoft account, or by a password if you set one. Keep those safe: anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Give us an email address you actually read, because tickets, changes and refunds all reach you there. One person, one account.
We may suspend or close an account that is used for fraud, abuse, or to break these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
Registering and buying tickets
When you register for an event you enter into an agreement with its organiser to attend on the terms the organiser has set out on the event page: the date, the venue, any age or entry conditions, and any questions they ask you to answer. A free registration costs nothing and can be cancelled from My Tickets.
When you buy a paid ticket, the organiser sells you the ticket through their own Stripe account and you pay the organiser in US dollars; Parklife provides the platform and takes a platform fee from the organiser.
The price shown is the price you pay: nothing is added at checkout. Card payment is handled by our payment provider on their secure pages; we never see or store your card number. Your seats are held for 30 minutes while you pay; if payment does not complete in time the hold is released and you can try again if seats remain. If a payment arrives after the hold has lapsed and the seats have gone, it is refunded automatically.
Organisers may limit how many tickets one person can hold for an event. Some events need the organiser to approve your registration before it is confirmed; you are told when that is the case.
Your tickets
A ticket is issued to your account and delivered by email, on My Tickets, and, if you choose, as an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass. Each ticket carries a QR code and a confirmation code that admit one person once. Treat the code like the ticket itself: anyone who has it can use it, and a code that has been scanned cannot be used again. Tickets are not transferable through RealEvents.
Joining a waiting list is not a ticket. If a place opens up, we tell you and, for a paid event, give you a limited time to pay for it; if you do not, the place goes to the next person. Marking yourself as Maybe or Can’t go is a response, not a ticket.
Refunds, cancellations and changes
There are no change-of-mind refunds. Once a paid order is complete, whether you can get your money back for a reason of your own is the organiser’s decision, and any refund they agree to is processed through RealEvents to the payment method you paid with.
If the organiser cancels the event, you are refunded in full without having to ask. If the organiser reschedules the event, we tell you the new time and give you a way to confirm or drop out; if you drop out of a rescheduled paid event you are refunded in full. Free registrations to a cancelled event are simply cancelled, and we tell you.
Refunds are returned to the card or account you paid with, and usually show within a few working days depending on your bank. We do not pay refunds in cash or to a different account.
The organiser is responsible for the event
The organiser is responsible for the event itself: that it takes place as described, that the venue is safe and suitable, that they hold whatever permissions and insurance it needs, and for what happens there. The organiser also decides their own refund policy within the rules above and is responsible for any promises they make on their event page. Questions about the event go to the organiser through the links on their event page.
We do our part: we run the platform, issue and honour tickets. We are not a party to the arrangement between you and the organiser beyond that, and we do not endorse organisers or their events.
Your content and conduct
What you put into RealEvents, such as your name, answers to an organiser’s registration form, reports you file about an event, and messages you send in RealEventsAI, must be accurate, yours to share, and lawful. We may remove content that is not.
Do not use RealEvents to break the law, to harass anyone, to resell or forge tickets, to scrape the service, to interfere with how it works, or to get around a limit an organiser has set. Reports about events are read by our staff and may be passed to the organiser without the reporter’s name.
RealEventsAI is an assistant inside RealEvents that can find events, show your tickets, register you for events and cancel registrations when you confirm. Your conversation with it is one ongoing thread that our staff can read to support you and improve the service, and each message is processed by an AI provider on our behalf. The details are in the Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
Our service and its availability
RealEvents is in alpha. We provide the service as it is and as available, on a best-effort basis: it may be unavailable, it may change, and features may be removed. We back up data and work to keep it safe, but you should not rely on RealEvents for anything you cannot afford to have go wrong. Beyond what the law requires, we give no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We may change the service, and these terms, at any time. When we change these terms we post the new version here with a new effective date, and, for a change that matters to you, tell you by email or a notice in the service. Continuing to use RealEvents after the effective date means the new terms apply to you.
Liability
We are liable to you for our own failures, such as a ticket we issued that we did not honour or a refund we owed and did not pay. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for the event itself, for the organiser’s acts or omissions, for loss of profit, or for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees we kept on the tickets you bought in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your rights under the consumer-protection laws of the place you live.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States and disputes are decided by the state and federal courts located in Delaware, United States. The consumer-protection law of where you live still applies to you where it cannot be excluded.
Tell us first. Most problems are fixed by an email to support@real-events.com, and we will try to resolve any complaint with you before anyone goes to court.
