Follow organisers

Hear when organisers you like, or one of their series, post new events.

Following an organiser, or just one of their series, means one thing: when there are new events, we tell you, in one email a day at most.

Follow an organiser

Select Follow on the organiser’s page, or beside their name under Hosted by on any of their events. If you are not signed in, you sign in first and come back following them.

Registering for an event, joining its waiting list or asking for a place also follows its organiser. The confirmation after you register says so: select Don’t follow there, or unfollow them later from their page, from Following in your settings or from any digest, and registering won’t follow them again.

Follow just one series

On a series page, such as a weekly club’s, Follow follows that series and then asks whether to follow everything from the organiser too. Following the series alone tells you about its new events and nothing else they post.

You can follow both. An event that is in a series you follow is still only sent to you once.

What you receive

When organisers or series you follow have new events, you receive one email, in the morning, listing them. A run of dates, such as a weekly club, is one line. Events you have already registered for are left out, and an event is never sent to you twice.

Following does not give the organiser your email address, and it does not let them email you. They see your name and that you follow them.

Unfollow or stop the emails

  • Unfollow anyone, or any series, from Following  (opens in a new tab), from Following on their page, or from the Unfollow link in any of these emails. Once you unfollow an organiser, registering for their events won’t follow them again.
  • An email’s Unfollow link stops what sent it: if it came because you follow the organiser, it stops everything from them, series included; if it came only because you follow a series, it stops that series.
  • To stay following but stop the emails, turn them off in Notifications  (opens in a new tab) or use Stop all of these emails at the bottom of one.
