Waiting lists and approvals

Understand whether you have a place and what happens next.

Waiting for a place and waiting for approval are different. In both cases, check your booking status before setting off for the event.

When your booking needs approval

Some hosts review registration requests. Submit the request and any required answers, then wait for the host’s decision. You receive your ticket and QR code once your place is approved.

You can see the request in My Tickets  (opens in a new tab). If your plans change while it is waiting for approval, use Withdraw request when available.

Waiting for approval

A pending approval is a request awaiting the host’s decision. It is not yet an admission ticket. Example event and guest details.

When the event is full

  1. Choose the waiting-list option on the event page, if the host has enabled it.
  2. Choose the number of places you need and complete the sign-in steps if asked.
  3. Look under Your waiting lists in My Tickets  (opens in a new tab) for your entry and updates.

Your waiting-list place

A waiting-list place is separate from a confirmed booking. You can leave the queue if your plans change. Example event and guest details.

When a place opens up

The host can let RealEvents allocate available places automatically or manage the queue themselves. Follow the status and instructions shown for your entry, and check your email for updates.

With automatic allocation, available free places can become a booking without another claim step. If approval is required, the new booking still needs the host’s decision.

Requests are considered in queue order, but the whole group must fit. A smaller request can be filled before a larger one when only a few places are available.

If an offer shows a claim button and deadline, follow those instructions before it expires.

If you no longer need a place

Open My Tickets  (opens in a new tab) and leave the waiting list, or turn down an offer. If you later rejoin, you join at the back of the queue.

If your entry has already become a confirmed booking, use the booking’s cancellation option instead.
