Open Settings → Payments (opens in a new tab) to see how your organiser is set up. The country you chose when you became an organiser decides which company you contract with, which currency you sell in, and how you get paid.
Your payment region
Each organiser trades in one region. Organisers in South Africa contract with Zacme (Pty) Ltd and sell in Rand; organisers in the United States contract with Acme Inc and sell in US dollars. Ticket prices are always entered in your region’s currency.
Guests pay the ticket price plus a small booking fee per paid ticket. A commission on the ticket price is deducted before payout. Free tickets never attract fees. The exact numbers for your region are shown on the Payments page.
Your region can’t change once you have sold a paid ticket. If it is wrong before then, contact support.
South Africa: paid out after your event
Zacme (Pty) Ltd collects ticket money on your behalf when guests pay. There is nothing to connect: paid tickets are available as soon as your organiser exists and the current terms are accepted.
After each event ends and a short settlement window has passed, Zacme (Pty) Ltd pays the ticket revenue, less commission, to your bank account by EFT. Refunds and chargebacks come off before payout, or are recovered from a later one.
United States: connect your Stripe account
- Open Settings → Payments (opens in a new tab) and choose Connect with Stripe. Stripe creates an account that belongs to your organiser.
- Complete Stripe’s onboarding: business type, your details, and the bank account payouts should go to. You can leave and come back; the Payments page shows Continue with Stripe until it is done.
- When Stripe has verified the account, the Payments page shows Ready and the ticket price field unlocks in the event editor. Use Refresh status if you have just finished onboarding and the page has not caught up.
Guests pay into your Stripe account directly, and you are the seller of record. Acme Inc keeps its commission and booking fee on each sale. Your Stripe balance is released to your bank after each event ends, so money for events that have not happened yet stays put.
Accept updated terms
You accepted your region’s organiser terms when you became an organiser. When we publish a new version, you cannot add new paid tickets until an owner or admin accepts it. Events already selling paid tickets carry on: guests keep buying, and you can still change those tickets’ price, capacity and sale window. Free tickets are never affected.
A notice appears on your Overview, and the new terms are on Settings → Payments (opens in a new tab) with a checkbox. What waits for the acceptance is anything new: a paid ticket on a new event, a new paid ticket on an existing event, or a free ticket turned paid.
Why the ticket price is locked
- “The organiser terms have changed” — an owner or admin needs to accept the new version on the Payments page. Only new paid tickets wait; tickets already on sale keep selling and stay editable.
- “Connect a Stripe account” — you are in the United States and have not started Stripe onboarding yet.
- “Your Stripe account is not ready” — onboarding was started but Stripe has not enabled payments; continue onboarding or press Refresh status.
- “Paid tickets are coming soon” — paid tickets are not switched on in this environment yet; nothing on your side is missing.
